We thought it might be an easy fix, but we were wrong. It was the actual opener that was the issue. Installed a new opener in approximately 2.5 hours and all is good. The technician, Kalu, arrived on time, did a careful inspection of the door, and presented me with various options, from just replacing the broken spring, to replacing other parts too that were extremely worn.
